I'll be heading there on Sunday as well. I leave at 11 am from Albuquerque. Pretty excited. I tried getting my permit here. Got every question right on the general knowledge AND air brakes... but I screwed up on the combination vehicles part because coupling/uncoupling wasn't in my manual... So mad... Not looking forward to the 19 hour bus ride with nothing to do... Pretty excited to get there though.

Follow up question, How many sets of clothes should I take with me? One thing I read said 2 weeks worth, but I've only seen the inside of a tractor on youtube and I'm not entirely sure that it will be enough storage for that many clothes, just don't want to pack too much and feel foolish with the trainer. Any help is appreciated.

You can store your clothes at the end of your bed. Thats what I did. I had a couple bags of stuff, It worked out good.

Thanks Reptij, great info on that thread! I was able to narrow it down from two stuffed bags to one stuffed bag and lightly packed bag and then will just have sleeping bag and pillow. Little bit anxious about everything, but Im just gonna shut my mouth and soak in everything possible. My schedule says to check into the hotel and to report to the sim room for a driving evaluation, I wonder if there is a "holy crap!!" box for the evaluator to mark, lol.

No worries, everything will be fine. The only truck driving I had ever done is on Grand Theft Auto 3. I killed a deer on that simulator. I also rolled a trailer while flying up an on ramp in high reverse. I later found out that we don't use high reverse. And then of course we don't back up on ramps either. Not yet anyway. But if that situation ever comes up where I need to back up an on ramp at a high rate of speed at least I've had some practice at it.
