Thanks, They really are a driver oriented company.
Not sure how much experience you have, but they hire people right out of school where you have to out with a trainer, and people with some experience, but not a great deal, will have to go out 50 hours with an evaluator, I had to do that, but that is only a week, we have a gal in orientation right now that will be doing that as well, she came over from CR England.
Pride is owned by Jeff England and his son Jay is CEO, but that is as close as it gets. Jeff started Pride in 79.
They are related by name only. Pride is so much more than that. Check out the videos on youtube. So they are not a subsidiary (This is a very common misconception) and they really do care about us drivers. My DM and dispatchers all know me by name.
If you are interested, give Brian a call and see if they can offer ya something. Pride is a great company with great equipment and good people from Jay all the way to the wash bay and truck detailers.
Either way, best of luck to you, and keep the wheels spinnin.
Heading back to Pride

Okay, I'll bite, I am quite happy with my choice with Pride, but what is this super company?
-
Nobody cares! Snowshoes only asked to hopefully shut you up.Snowshoes Thanks this.

Every time I go to our SLC terminal I see your SLC terminal on the way in,
Dang those trucks are clean!
I have a ton of respect for a company that cares about their equipment, every time I get a paycheck my truck gets washed, but I'm a L/O....Swift doesn't care much about trucks being dirty.Snowshoes Thanks this. -
Most of us run thru the wash bay every chance we get. Thanks. It's nice when people notice things like that.Father Luke Thanks this.

Its a shame thier pay is on the low side. Thirty seven cents to start. Thats what recent truck school grads start out these days at the better companies. Also, I wasnt crazy about the first threatening email from the director of recruiting. Heres that letter:
We look forward to you starting in the position of Fleet Driver. We believe your skills and experience will contribute to our Company's success, therefore, we are excited to offer you this position.
This offer is contingent upon a background check, including verification of previous employment, criminal history and a pre-employment drug test. We trust the information you provide is accurate, however, if we receive employment verification to the contrary, after we have transported you to the company for orientation, the contingent offer of employment may be rescinded and transportation back to your home town will be at your expense. This is a very rare event and would only occur if you falsified your job application.
Pride Transport is an At Will employer.
We are proud of our Company and are delighted you will be joining us as part of the team. Please call me at ( I removed phone numbers) if you have questions and/or to confirm your starting date with us.
I find it unprofessional to tell me about the consequences of lying on an employment app. I know what they are if you get caught lying. Its unfortunate that the trucking industry has a lot of dummies in it and this is what it comes down to. To each thier own.White_Knuckle_Newbie Thanks this. -
That email sounds just fine to me. Letting you know that if you falsified any part of your application, and they don't happen to catch it until YOU cost them money to bring YOU to orientation, then YOUR bus ride home is on YOU.
What I find more ridiculous is Curling Iron makers have to attach a HUGE placard on the power cord to warn ADULTS that the iron gets hot and might burn your eyes.MachoCyclone, marineman227 and Snowshoes Thank this. -
At least Pride informs/warns potential employees as to the policies.
Only item left out is "hair follicle test" which really weeds out the dummies.
$.37 cpm isn't so bad with assessorial pays added in.Snowshoes Thanks this. -
I read the post to the orientation group, they all agree with Dog and China. We had 3 rehires out of 9 people in orientation. That had to say something. All 3 of us left local gigs to come back

Thanks.
Everytime I see a post about how someone is happy with their company, I bookmark that companies website.
When and if it's time to start shopping around, at least I have a place to start.
Thanks for the heads up. It's nice to read something other than byching.Snowshoes Thanks this.
