I'm not far from you...but the way the mountains lay around home shields us pretty good, you can watch the storms weaken on radar as the get near there.
They were bad but nothing like what hit Glade Springs...at home it broke a few limbs out of the trees but thats about it...by the time that storm reached Blountville, TN (father in law lives there) it had picked up steam again, major hail, stronger winds...I watched it all on radar via weather.com, I was in Carlisle, PA but was worried about the family at home.

Also hope all is well at home. I live in Missouri so Ive seen my share of bad weather. We've been fortunate most times to never have had anymore than minor damage. -
I got into Columbia around 2:30 (Eastern) on Thursday. Then I went over to Augusta GA to load on Friday heading to Ohio(Pioneer).
Haven't gotten to see the damage for myself, but they have all the roads shut down into that area. -
I live in Vilonia, the town in Arkansas that got hit hardest by the tornados Monday night. It hit hardest on the west side of town and along US 64. We live on the south side which saw very little if any damage. Clean up is on going and will be for a long time.
When the storms came through my wife went to the linen closet. I was near a well east of Pangburn. There were about 12 Maverick Pumpkin trucks there riding out the storm. CalFrac shut down the well and headed to the ditches. They started the well up again Tuesday morning only to shut it down again at @6pm because of the threat of more bad weather. Normally frac-ing continues through bad weather unless lightening is close by. -
I was on I-75 coming out of KY (Wednesday) when I got a call from home that told me that I better find somewhere to pull over and park. I wanted to push on to GA and had the hours to do it, but the future wife said I better be getting my truck off the road. So I finally stopped in Jellico at the welcome center. The next day, I came through Ringgold GA around 11am and it looked like a bomb went off. You could see where the tornado came through the valley and went across the interstate and kept on going. I have saw stuff like that on T.V., but never in person before. We (my family and church) have had all of those affected by the tornado's in our thought's and prayers. Now I'm on my way to Catoosa, OK with a load of I-beams and man I have to say that Arkansas doesn't need anymore rain. I remember when Nashville, TN got flooded and yes that was a lot of rain, but Arkansas has flooding EVERYWHERE. Fields that should be ready for planting or are planted are covered in water and today's forecast is for 4-7" of more rain.
I pulled in to the NLR today to get some more notepads and they sure have gotten a lot more new trucks since I was last there. The ones that have 2007 trucks should be getting 2012's pretty soon. They already have the headache racks and decals on the trucks. Plus they have more new ones sitting at the sale lot. -
Jim where did you go. You've been too busy doing yard work. You know they have Mexicans for that. LOL

Some of us are not as special and do not get home until Saturday and then have to leave out really early on Monday Morning in order to get our 34 hour reset in!
-
Will be leaving 6 AM Sunday. Enjoy your Sunday at home. -
I will! Did you enjoy your 12:00 Noon at home on Friday?
And you know you are special! At least to me! lol -
Well, I have an announcement to make.
Monday morning I am going for the drug screen and physical for a position at Superior Carriers.
This isn't a 100% done deal yet, but I really don't see anything that would keep it from happening.
Maverick has been an excellent company to work for and I enjoyed my time there and met some great people.
I am not gone from the forum of course. I will still be lurking around. I'll keep you posted.
Later,
Dave
