I thought it was all you can eat buffetts, playing video games and buying all the cool stuff at the truck stops ? :biggrin_255:

And I really thought it meant playing that cool horse racing game where guys sit and slap at it all day long.....:biggrin_25523:

Don'tknow if I mentioned that I got to have lunch with my mom and dad yesterday. They drove 1.5 hours to see me. It was a great blessing.
Got on the road at 0430 and headed North. I stopped in Marengo and got fuel and my wife met me there and brought me provissions. My daughter who I have not seen since I left for orientation in Feb surprissed me. She got up very early and drove 40 miles to see me. It was only for 15 minutes but it was great. We had a group hug in the parking lot and I was on my way.
Dropped off my particle board and then headed 40 miles into Indiana to pick up a 44,000 lb coil going to granite city. I loaded it shotgun as I like the combination of the chains and the straps and the trip chain on the front. I even added an extra strap just for safe keeping.
This was my first chance to do a single coil all by myself. I felt very confident in what I was doing. I tarped it all by myself and if I must say so, it looks pretty good.
I then headed down to ft wayne and hit the ft wayne truck plaza.
I first thought I screwed up where I parked because I was next to a cattle car. But it was empty and cleaned.
Will get up at 0330 and be on the road again at 0430 to get this piece of art..:biggrin_2559:
    Dropped off.
There is one other Maverick truck here. I introduced myself to him and we chatted for a bit and then it was off to the truck.
What No Tarps says is exactly right. You can not read what this is going to be like.
You can not imagine it....you have to live it!

    God Bless!
    Jim

I sense you know this....just pray for God's perfect will in your life...and you will end up where you are supposed to be!:yes2557:

Yes Sir; and you are correct on your advice; I hate to think where I would or will be if I relied upon my own being.

Its good to know that there are Christian truckers out there that can rely on God and each other; may he always guide your comings and goings.

Christians are not perfect; just forgiven "as I am an example of such".

    MsJamie and newtruckerwife84 Thank this.

Just passed a turn over on 71 south. Woman driver walked away. Had at least two coils on the back. She is very lucky!

We had backing exercises when i went thru orientation at the rock as well: parrallel, drivers side, blind side, 90 degree. 2 weeks ago when picking up my next student, 90 degree backing area we used when i went thru was still full of m t tractors but with the fleet growing daily, hopefully they will resume the backing exercises again. Please if new to Maverick and can correct me if i'm wrong, re: backing exercises, please do. I don't like to misinform anyone.
