I agree, took a 12 year break from trucking to finish my 20 years of military service and couldn't wait to get back to it. I start orientation on Sep 30th (hopefully), headed to the Glass division.

I use my cell phone for my alarm clock on the truck. I forgot to turn it off, so It went off at 0415. So I am up having coffee. I decided that I would run up to Lansing tomorrow morning....so I am going to have to get up at 0245 tomorrow morning, so at least now I will be more in a position to go to bed early and get to sleep.

Welllll.....I just spent 12 days on the road and in reality, that number is still growing. I didn't get home until 0300 this morning and I have to deliver at Sam's Club in NLR at 0330 tomorrow morning. So today is only a pit stop to do laundry and get my wife some groceries.

Since I left home the day after Labor Day I have put almost 5000 miles on my truck. I finished this week with over 3200 miles and 2 extra stops. I'm now running on recap and pushing 70 every day so I don't expect huge miles this week, especially with having to be home next week end for doctors appointments next Monday. The load I have now is a swap I picked up in Mt. Vernon Illinois and my pre-plan is a load out of Tennessee Pride in LR going to Lebanon Tennessee.

My average miles per week in TCD (with the exception of the holiday week) are running in the 2700-3200 miles range. I know of others who aren't getting that many. Maybe it has to do with their styles of driving, maybe it's their FM's. I run as hard as I can on e-logs and keep the left door shut.

One of the biggest differences between TCD and Flat (as far as the way we drive) is that in TCD we have to be able to change our driving schedules and our body clocks quite often because of pick up and delivery times. Right now, I'm all messed up.

Last week I saw where a guy was asking a lot of questions about TCD. To him, I'm sorry but I just don't have the time today to answer those questions. I promise, the next time I'm home for any length of time, I will do my best.

I want to thank Ultrtrykeflyer (Terry) for meeting me at exit 58 on 540 the other day to take me to WalMart to get some meds and groceries. Terry will be a great addition to Maverick and the TCD fleet in particular.

Have a good week. More laundry to do.

getting up that early you might as well be pulling a reefer. I run under recap before I get up in the middle of the night.
To each his own besides that I know you like to leave out at bar closing time.
If I'm up at four in the morning it's because I closed the bar and I stopped for breakfast on the way home.

    Have a good trip.

I like to start my days around 4am, no parking stress. For examply, I stopped 80 miles from receiver tonight. They start unloading at 7 so I'm heading out after 5... Forget that overnight parking just to sit for a load (potentially) then have to find parking at midnight. No thx! In doing this, my miles are good, hometime is above average. Even though I got hung out this w/e. Haha
