Not EVERY weekend but most. If any driver tells you every weekend he's lying. Dont expect every weekend.

Well that stinks, I really wanted to be a truck driver but maybe it's not for me, I can handle being gone all week and home on the weekends but I don't think I could take being in a truck for two weeks lol. I just really wanted a career. I went to school for criminal justice and cannot for the life of me get a police job, I've been trying for three years. I can't keep working for ten bucks an hour the rest of my working life. So I thought maybe tricking was the next best thing, hell they make more then cops do! Well back to square one I reckon!

Are y'all ever able to take time off? Let's say you want to go to FL or something and want to leave on a Thursday night and won't be home until Monday so you wouldn't leave out til Tuesday. Would they ever do that if you didn't have vacation time?

That is a yes/no answer and would be based on time at Maverick, the reason for the request etc. Yes time off other than the weekend can be arranged.

I was only with them for 6 months, and I was able to schedule time off no questions asked. I was told 3 special requests per quarter. Once I special requested to be home Wednesday evening till Monday morning at 10 (spent a long weekend at the lake)... They had a load delivering 15 minutes from my house on Wednesday, and told me to let them know when I was ready to roll Monday. Also requested to be home for all three of my childrens birthdays with no problems. I can't imagine a better otr trucking company personally.
