The wind along the Columbia river can get pretty nasty sometimes. I saw a kitesurfer ramp off a wave and fly like 25 feet in the air once. I'm glad that I never go that way empty.

I don't know what they are telling you. The Oregon Trail starts in Independence, Missouri. You will have to ford rivers and streams. At night circle in with other wagons for protection. Watch out for the Indians. They are not like the Chickasaw you are probably use to. If you don't have a grill guard get one, buffalo run wild out there. And then there is the mountains. If you don't have a guide, you are in deep trouble. Trapped by snow fall and you will have to start eating human flesh. The butt is the most tender but take some Teriyaki sauce with you. Other then that I have no advice expect, don't haul cheap.

lol no that was a different trip. we got shutdown at the corral on account of weather for a couple days, then weather cleared a bit and they said go ahead. we went about five miles and got turned around because of no chains. went to the corral and argued with company about who was paying for chains. they did thats who lol -
I'll be out in grants pass in a few days I have 4 stops in California then 5 in Oregon. Been to Cali a few times but not Oregon hopefully it ain't to bad out there. Good luck on you're trip
