New to the forum, want to say a quick hello to everyone. I’ve been in the application process with Roehl for the past few weeks. CLP, DOT card and drug screen completed. Orientation starts next Monday in Marshfield. Excited to get started! I haven’t seen much on here in regards to the Roehl training program for 2020. Anyone out there go through the GYCDL program this year?

    Hi welcome,
Congrats on taking a step in the cdl Direction. I don't know anything about Roehl to be honest.
But I would strongly suggest. You become a yes man for any company you start with. No matter the situation as long as it legal. After 24 months of being mentally and physically beat into the ground. You will come out one he'll of a good driver with a good since of your duties.
After two years if your not happy with them your options will open greatly. Anything to short of that and it will be hard to get on anywhere that's not just trying to fill a seat.
Every one talks to someone in this industry. So I'm sure those with roehl experience will be around shortly..
    Good luck and congrats!!!

Thank you guys for asking. Yes it’s been quite the journey. The first week seemed to feel the longest, with physical capacity tests, paper work, payroll ect. By the end of the second day we were in the trucks learning to idle shift ten speed manuals on a freight liner. In addition homework via the Roehl app each night amounting to 1-2 hours a night. The rest of the week, practicing the shifting. Week 2 flew by, with city driving, refining the shifting and backing off set and the 90 degree back. The third week more of the same and tested on that Wednesday. So more like a 2 week program, test on the third week. I passed my test with pretty good scores but man was it nerve racking. Still wrapping up week 3, getting ready to take a few days off at home (finally) then right into phase 2. So far so good, but it is a lot thrown at you in the beginning. I’ve posted a few updated videos on you tube. “The Vermilion Cowboy”. I’ll try and continue to update. Thanks again for checking in.
