Why do I want to use a relay and do I really need to? Anytime you want to switch a device which draws more current than is provided by an output of a switch or component you'll need to use a relay. The coil of an SPDT or an SPST relay that we most commonly use draws very little current (less than 200 milliamps) and the amount of current that you can pass through a relay's common, normally closed, and normally open contacts will handle up to 30 or 40 amps. This allows you to switch devices such as headlights, parking lights, horns, etc., with low amperage outputs such as those found on keyless entry and alarm systems, and other components. In some cases you may need to switch multiple things at the same time using one output. A single output connected to multiple relays will allow you to open continuity and/or close continuity simultaneously on multiple wires.

Anytime you need a good clean power supply, use a relay. Very low amp draw with large amp output.

I never get up that way but I do have a '05 T-600 that has the old factory 4 light system, I am definitely going to upgrade and I thought I knew what I wanted until I started reading this. I thought my options were limited because of the headlight buckets, so my question is do you have a complete "kit" that will either fit my stock buckets without modifying them or a kit that includes the modified buckets? I used to see "kits" with a modified bucket that opens from the back to change the bulb now i cant find them, but apparently thats not my best option. I'm not looking for an argument over whose stuff is best, can you please send me a pm with tel. contact info and a quote for a kit(or enough parts to replace all 4 lights) please include any shipping cost to zip code 45064. Thanks

He hasn't been on here since 6/19/12 either. I put the clear lensed lights in mine from united pacific, what a difference at night. I just cut the round part of the back of my buckets off, and used a rubber pipe cap for pvc pipe and a hose clamp to seal it off, works good.

I bought this 44" LED light bar off of E-bay and installed on an aluminum angle on top of sun visor. Wired into high beam side of fog lights that I have removed. This is the same type of light bar that offroad racers use.

240 watts that is 80 - 3 watt LED bulbs.

    High beam headlights only

They work great and do not draw as much energy as a pair of regular fog lights. It would take over 15 regular fog lights to equal this one light bar with the same number of lumens output.

The deer actually run back into the woods with these that I mainly bought for those night driving ventures in unpopulated areas of this country. I have also been DOT inspected twice since installing them with no problems or violations for these lights on the truck.

Note: I apologize for the poor quality pictures from my camera on my cell phone.
