If they come out of the factory on high end cars and the t6's I would say they are. I want to say I have seen some on Pete's also. There using like a 6k hid with projectors.

If you are ever down here in the Lower Mainland I can show you the LEDs in action. You aint seen anything like it, as good or better than HID!

regardless of choice, upgraded harness is a must.

i can do 2 vehicles with cibies for less than half the price of one with led

the cibies have better distance and width.

the leds are ~2x as bright at 25', not really an issue, ~2x brighter at 100'+++ i want.

at the end of 5yrs, even assuming bulb chg every yr, still half the price.

but the cibies are glass, i lose one every other yr

peace of mind knowing the leds arent gonna break or burn out....but the price is still too high to get less performance except for the 25' dead center....thats too close to make any difference except at 5 mph.

and the leds are noticeable, maybe theft desirable?

Run your cibies with PIAA bulbs and you dont have to touch your harness.

Why dont your try a clear lens, rear reflector style. There are 200mm kits out there. Poly lenses as well. I mean why try and deal with 50 year old technology of pushing light through a prism, that never worked well in the first place. Seriously, 50 bucks a side and stock bulbs will put a more noticable amount of light to the road, now add a premium bulb and you have better than ANY headlamp that still tries to adjust the beam by refracting rather than reflecting.

No breakage, superior light to the road, no harness change.

    harness has to be done.

it should be done on every vehicle regardless if they replace the bulbs.

piaa's marketing is lol...65w bulbs giving light of 130w bulb....wtf is that sposed to mean? are they afraid of posting real numbers?

Hey bud, I have over to 800watts(over 1000 when I hit the PTP switch)of light put to the road in my Pontiac Vibe, all PIAA(Japanese products, not the US stuff), only harness change was to use the one that came with my 540series drivers, prewired with relay and fuse. No alternator change(in fact i underdrive it), no burnt pigtails, no melted wiring. Total cost was less than 500 bucks, drivers and fogs protected with 3M film and guards.

All my posts refer to running with legal headlamps, if you want to put over wattage in then yeah harness upgrade is required. You can do anything you want and not be compliant. Your miata if checked, would not be in compliance. I will only recommend legal lighting, we have a great relationship with CVSE, and they have been in several times to see our lighting display here, we are second to none in our offerings, as well as our knowledge of the market.

Your ignorance of PIAA is not unexpected, no-one understands until they try them. Good luck.

IMO. the best way to use HID projector units from expencive cars. According DOT and ECE HID must have range ajusting system, but is vehicle has air suspention with leveling valve ore ECAS HID may be used w/o ajuster.

To put projector inside headlamp unit is easy.

All your listed specs have also been watts! You wanna talk candle power, lumens, lux, PAR, specific industrial 'J'-rated tests, if you want we can talk about co-efficients of utilization as it pertains to halogen lighting or candela distribution, lluminance-vs.-light working distance..lets go I'm game.

and yeah , if you have no experience or knowledge with/of a certain person, place, thing...then you are IGNORANT...not a statement of what KIND of person you are,but a statement of fact about your knowledge of said brand.

Your cibies are OK at best, but my baseline statement is that they are not as efficient as modern designs that DO NOT force the light through a refracted lens rather than use a reflector based system, using the exact same bulb. This is fact and not observation, you can do what you want with it. Why do you think that cars and trucks dont use a replacable sealed beam any more...they suck!
