yeah, i never took off the factory mufflers either. but i never listened to any radio either. i always had a cruiser or a bagger, that never had radio as an option or standard equipment.

In the mind of a Goldwing rider; there are 3 reasons for accessories:

    Function
    Form
Safety(if you put that word in front of anything; it's justified: safety chrome, safety lights, safety apparel)..

BTW; the right music on the right road at the right moment will give a totally mind-blowing experience, like the right track in the scene of a movie or TV show.

yeah, but if any rider, especially one listening to music, gets caught up in the moment of that music, still see in 3D, for a mind blowing experience, of bloody body parts scattering on the highway, if he runs head on into a semi..???.???

Make sure to buy LED headlights from companies that care about DOT compliance and they won't distract other drivers, just make sure to get the heated versions.

Note that GMC issue is the same issue with the illegal, cheap LED lights, that they tend to produce a log of light outside of the legal cutoff area, and it is that brightness that annoys other drivers and poses a safety risk.

While expensive I went with the JW Speaker headlights which are probably not an option for you as I was just replacing 5x7 lights which they sell. But I have never had anyone flash their brights at me and the covered area is far better than almost any legal headlight I have ever used.

Here is the text of the GMC recall that shows that it is the glare from illegal lights that is the problem.

It has nothing to do with illegal lights, GM produced a defective product which does what many aftermarket lights do, produce light outside the limits that are set.

Many of these aftermarket lights, they blind people, no doubt of it.

Many aftermarket lights are unlawful to install, there are options that do meet the SAE requirements. It is about glare mostly. No different than people using landing lights in the days of sealed beams, they could be sold, even at auto parts stores, but we're illegal to install and use on the road.

If they are not legit marked headlights they probably won't meet the standards, which most sold at the chrome shops and online do not.

I know this sounds dumb but if you give a mouse smoked headlights he’ll ask for smoked cab and clearance lights. Have the United Pacific LED’s, this pic was taken before changing the rest of the lights out. I’m sure UP and JW Speakers are good but my JW’s gave up on my ‘00 FLD so it’s back to the halogens on it.

From what I understand, most of the manufacturers have gone to a design that integrates the headlights with the marker lights and 4ways/turn signals into a single assembly for each side. Not saying this is a good thing or not, just the way it appears to be.

That said, I typically run my headlights whenever I am in motion, unless I am pulling through a scale, or I am on site(truck stop/shipper/receiver).

What I am interested in is pictures with the blackout lights ON, both with daylight and without.

I agree, most aftermarket lights that make the claim dot approved are illegal. The dot doesn’t approve lights.

gm and ford both have lights that are really bad, ford with their four headlights on their trucks should be dealing with a recall to remove the bottom lights, they are blinding. Ford also has with some of their cars light leakage on the side to the point that it can cause a blinding problem to the right or left.
