I'm sure they know. Why else would they have all the interior lights on?

I usually cut the headlamps as soon as I come into the parking lot (marker lights still on though.) Old habit from LTL days.

First time in a loooong time I spent the night in the truck instead of getting a hotel (yes, I'm spoiled, I can get a hotel at my discretion on the company dime, but I have to justify it)this week, I didn't spend much time staring out the window while parked, but man did I see how true the comments about it are.

While fueling, the jackwad flatbedder that finished fueling, pulled up JUST BARELY, shut off his truck, locked it, and went inside, and somehow spent 45 minutes in a Flying J without a restaurant (although they did have a casino), then came out all perturbed after they paged him 15 times. Then left, didn't find a parking space, just drove off.

No one grasps the idea that while backing, you are a hazard, call me crazy, but turn your hazards on

Again, why do you need you headlights on while parked and in the sleeper, marker lights I can understand, but headlights o_O

Really, do we need engine brakes on high in a parking lot?

Why do we have to share truck parking with RV's?

Why do bobtails and expeditors back completely into a parking space? On one side I had an expeditor, on the other a bobtail, both were backed all the way into the spot.

Why do drivers leave their trash, specifically old tires, in the middle of a parking space?

Boy the little things that you all let eat at you. Enjoy life and quit nit picking every little thing. I guess drivers have too much time on their hands. I for one can find better things to think about than whether someone has their lights on or not.

I guess, if a driver ain't #####ing then he is dead! (rhymes with itching)

Lights don't bother me my curtains are closed but newbies who are trained to blow horn before backing up annoy me almost as much as the darn beep beep back up buzzer going off for 5 minutes while they do a easy back up

My lights are on until I shut down.

You don't need them while you are backing at night.
Is that because you don't care what is in front of you as you are swinging the truck around?
Personally, I like to see in ALL directions - as well as possible.

And like others have said, you can pull the curtains if the light bothers you that much.

I am really tired of all the threads about keeping headlights on in a truck stop or using the fog lamps at night.
I will see where I am going and what is in front of me, period.

And I have been nearly run over by stupid drivers that are using only running lights in truck stops, as they speed through in their hurry to save a few seconds of their precious time.
    Why?
Because they didn't SEE me! Or simply didn't care.

I toot my horn in only two circumstances.
    1. I am backing blind, so I want to sound a small alert.
    2. I am in a company terminal.

I'm not a real newbie anymore, but it has been that way from the start.
I guess I was taught correctly.

    mindes and okiedokie Thank this.
