Flashing the high beams when clear is aggravating. Learn to use the little knob to turn OFF your headlights.

However, it is still better than nothing, and shows there is a decent driver in the other truck. Pulling flatbed with a tarp flapping I can't always see the back corners, so I'll take any help I can get.

It's not all the drivers fault. I know with my truck may headlights automatically turn on when I release my brakes. To make it worse I physically have no way to turn them off til I set my brakes again.

Turn your headlights OFF for a couple of seconds when they clear, especially at night, and especially if you have an interrupt switch. I understand using the brights if you don't have that, but it's almost better if you did nothing if that's the case. Especially if you're governed at 62 or so and spend your nights and days being passed. Those mega-blaster HID highbeam bumps are a real treat...not. Oh, and does anyone comprehend headlight aiming? Cause that would be good. Nothing like a guy running behind you with his driver side headlight aimed squarely into your mirror....I've hit 75 or so for a couple.miles to find someone else to pass and let them have a turn ducking the deathray beam...lol

and dang Cornbinders CAN'T shut the lights off all the way until they set the brakes. Longshoremen at night just hate that...supposed to run around the port on marker lights....and can't.

Deff annoying. Another one that's bad is these crappy old truck owners that try to see better, and install UTILITY LED work lights as 'fog lights'..... Wtf?? Those are for off-road, or work lights: they are designed for that purpose. Blind the crap out of oncoming traffic, because you think they look cool? How about changing them faded old stock headlights, and solve your problem! Then they wire them up as parking lights, and leave em on while they sleep. Thanks.

They are afraid the truck will suddenly jump into a forward gear on its own and go barreling thru the truck stop and they want to make sure to be able to see the crash well enough to fill out an accident report blaming it on somebody else,as per company directive. Or, they are tired and forgot. I personally have only forgotten once in my entire 30 year career and the image of that 500 lbs of naked wide eyed flesh was enough to cause me to never forget again. Some times you see things you can't unsee. It's burned into my brain now and has caused me untold psychological damage. I should be getting a government check to this day over that mishap, but do you think I can? No,nada, ziltch, nothing.

If you could all just shut your trucks off as you pull in, and coast to your parking spots, that would be great, too....

No reason to ever flash or dim lights when someone is passing. If the passing driver is that blind to know when he can move over they need to get out of this industry. N those that day their headlights come on automatically, yes they do but they are dimmer than when you actually switch them on. Just DRL lights.

People flash their lights when they want to pass, when they want to let you over, when they are about to make a turn but won't pass you, when they don't know how to merge, and when they fart. They flash so much, for nothing important, it has lost its meaning.
It would be nice if you didn't bother with the light switch so you could focus more on keeping it in your own lane. Why flash at me if your just going to play with the phone when you pass... 95% of light flashing just means "idiot approaching".

I agree. This is what I also meant. Like times it's ok is if it's pouring rain like crazy and the guy passing is way ahead of you.
