Is it true they’ve been directed to not weigh trucks and stop us for overweight fines during all this pandemonium?

Most likely this is a rumor. I won't get too deep into detail otherwise on why I'm saying that.

This as with almost everything else you hear in this industry. If you don't see it in black and white or linked to an official website, etc. You can be 99.9999% sure its pure BS!

In the last 3-4 weeks, I've seen maybe 5 weigh stations open. I still see trucks being pulled over or directed behind the scale.

Hulld, alds and bzinger Thank this.

Since weight is a state thing... Maybe a single state is doing it.
But I also have some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you....

CA and FL are still pulling me in to weigh every time. Everything in between was closed or gave the bypass.

    TokyoJoe Thanks this.

Is this somehow related to the company that refuses to pay you back for 10.00 cat scale tickets? Or run legal 80000 pound loads across scales?

The Illinois and Wisconsin scales have been closed, seems that some states are welcoming trucks in for refreshments at times.

I haven't seen the pressure on hoppers I normally see with open navigation on the Mississippi, and ethanol has kind of collapsed other than contracted grain from what my brother told me. His rig hasn't moved for a couple of months now.

I can say that ny and pa has still been conducting inspections.
With that said I would like to thank the state of Virginia because all there scale houses have been closed with big litghed signs saying truck parking open.
Also as I went by the Carson scale on i95 in Virginia today along with a truck parking open sign there was a big lighted sign saying “Thank You Truckers the Virginia state police”

Tb0n3, Snailexpress, TokyoJoe and 5 others Thank this.
