It doesn't happen often, but there have been a few times that when i press the brakes harder than normal ive heard a pop or bang, then the steering wheel wants to pull left. Ive looked around the brakes and I'm not seeing anything out of the normal looks, ,what am i missing? My trucks going into the shop tomorrow for the ac system is inoperable, plus im having the clutch adjusted. What do i need to tell the shop when they ask?

The pull to the left could be a problem with the right brake. Possibly caming over, broke spider, cam bushing gone.

I just talked with one of our other drivers and he's saying the brake jammer might be bad as well

Brake jammer? The nut behind the wheel?

I've been to a few Freightliner shops about this problem. They can't find out what's wrong... sucks in the winter when it wants to pull to one side before it pops, and then wants to straighten out.

My Prostar did that once I a while also, found the brake lining cracked on both sides of the steer axle, had new brakes and drums installed and hasn't done it since.

The tie bolt goes thru all of the ft. springs in the center of the springs the head of the tie bolt sticks thru into the steel ft. axle no part of it shows, you can ck. to see if the ft. axle is moving by looking for marks on axle under U/bolts where its been sliding back in forth on the springs, or you can roll down window an move truck then step on brake while sticking head out window and watching ft. end move when you stab on your brakes if its the drivers side get a helper to watch the R. side for you?
