    CliffB,

Rather than insulting an entire profession "Chiropractic", perhaps you should take your irregular heart sounds to a cardiologist and get cleared prior to your DOT exam. Walk in the door with a big smile on your face that a qualified heart doctor has cleared you to drive . Alleviating any concerns about the irregular sounds the DOT doctor is hearing. Because as stated your arriving to the exam with an irregular heart and a personal opinion that "nothing is wrong" with zero paperwork to prove. Sounds risky to me

Cheers, your registered DC medical examiner

    I was a premature.

The specific murmur I have is related to the Mitral Valve that opens in the heart to allow FRESH air from the Lungs with FRESH blood incoming to go out through the heart into the rest of the body.

That valve was more or less bad. But only gets REALLY dangerously bad when in fight or flight chemical dump that requires a ton more air and a massive boost in blood pressure which the Mitral will not provide. The formal term is Mitral Insufficiency which literally means there isnt sufficient fresh blood full of good fresh oxygen coming from the lungs on demand. It would dilate and fail to provide the volume. and down I go.

For about a week to ten days in my 7th month since concieving (Easier to consider age time rather than being born at 26 weeks and adding 6 or so...) The doctors deployed a very special life support device called ECMO for short. A machine lung set.

They surgically installed three needles into my leg femoral artery and the so called big purple vien and one other needle as a spare return as needed in central line at Arotic artery in my neck. The blood bypassed the lungs which were shut down and was oxygenated by the ECMO machine while three skilled technicians manually in 60's era fine tuned the necessary flow of those three needles which needed to match what my body was doing up or down constantly.

I have a hole in my right leg to this day from that procedure. The size of me then combined with literally ultra smallest needles in existence in the free world at that time in the 60's allowed several pass at a time. The diameter of the needle did not allow for much more than that. I am led to understand that Hopkins and Kaiser had a hand in that needle technology in those days.

anyway I just finished about 32000 dollars worth of nuclear scanning, drug induced stress testing and the whole 9 yards of EKG, EEG, Imaging etc. And one very special scan involving internal radiation in the blood itself.

HEart surgeon sees nothing. Not a #### thing. It was perfect for him. Even the pipes were clear. Yes the arotic leaks yes the mitral leaks and yes I have very minor commmon issues when sleeping at night which literally is barely detectable by a massive EKG machine turned up to volume 11.

Some doctors caught it, other doctors could not be bothered. My story is a simple one easily explained in a few moments. Some doctors rephrase questions and try to shake me loose from that actual life story but its not going to happen.
