I lasted longer than anyone in my orientation group and I was there like 5 months. There were 8 of us. I’m glad it’s been good for you ,but I was only speaking from my own experience.

every company will have its good and bad, its just a matter of if it fits you well. Heartland I run GP Southwest, I don't have to schdule time off, I get by my home when I choose as the loads crisscross past my house a couple of times per week. Also depends on if the delivery has a open delivery or a hard delivery. Hard deliveries I tend to take the load home, and deliver when schduled, open I most oftem run thru minimum time, and keep moving. Also I know the area well, over the years I have delivered to most every part of the southwest, So when 10 or 15 backs up I know the ways around. Nobody at Heartland gives me headahe or heartburn about how I choose to deliver, If I need more moeny I let dispatch know I need loads that need to move.
Also after I had retired and decided to come back out, Heartland was one of the only ones that wanted to work with me to get me back out. I was required to retrain or go thru any such nonsense, Iust oreintation and gone.
The dispatcher you get and your ability to communicate with them, if that com line isnt there the company name will not matter.

Heartless itself is not regional, but they will keep you and run you that way.

So now it's not a good company to work for like you said in your original post?

Did say that, I would say its still a good company to work for, I just choose to move on, at 70 years old I dont see any reason not to do what I choose.
Have a opp tp go back to @@@@@, Mercury NV. I simply like it better.

I think they bought too many companies at the wrong time.. but who knows.. does seem to be a drag on their quarterly's.. unfortunately they bought high and the market turned just as they bought.. management don't seem too bright.. but good to hear it worked for you while it lasted..gotta do what ya gotta do..
