That my friends is why I have a house in the mountains. When I get tired of this awful humidity I go and take a break. Since it doesn't really snow here nice to take the kids up there.

Death toll for the last 4 days is at six now. Why would you come to Arizona and decide to hike up a mountain when it's 110 or better?

That's why we have " stupid " laws. They will charge you with stupidity when they rescue you from a trail or your car is under water in a wash, and you get to pay for your rescue.

I use to raise snakes. But my favorite snake I caught was the western diamondback rattler from out that way.

    U. R. NUTS! BONKERS! CRAZY!
Personally, I always had some snake loads readily available. If Mr. Rattlesnake was in his home environment, where he should be, he was perfectly safe. I'd leave him alone, and he'd leave me alone. BUT if he was around houses, (and I had a LOT of calls for 'em when I was a deputy in Imperial County,) well, let's just say bye bye. I had one really, I mean REALLY stupid one that I found in my OWN YARD! (I had a 10 year old and a 3 year old at the time....) Buh-bye.

I lived at Furnace Creek in Death Valley for 8 years. And before that down near El Centro for another 8. I used to be able to take the heat, but not any more.
