Isn't that from a news release of a recent microburst? Or did you take it yourself?texasbbqbest and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
-
It's a real picture from 2016. It was a microburst in Phoenix Arizona. You can do a Google search on "microburst phoenix arizona" and look at some cool pics.
texasbbqbest, tucker and Big Don Thank this. -
That was yesterdays microburst. Put I-17 underwater lol. That one missed us. When your right on the edge of one of those, it sucks. The winds can hit 70 mph after they come strait down, then bounce outward. I've been through them in the truck, just gotta stop and hope your not the one blown over, cause its 0 visibility. They don't last long with the massive wind, the rain lasts longer. Yesterday got 3 inches in two hours lol.Big Don, texasbbqbest and Lepton1 Thank this.

Nah that was the dude in the Penguin news chopper he was way on the west side of town looking northeast.
That was yesterday.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
That particular picture was from July 21.tucker Thanks this.

Well knowing our illustrious news station, they probably put up the wrong photo. I know this was yesterday cause there's a date on it.
@tucker How do you e-log this?
That picture is about 4 miles from the DC. Oh The Huge Manatee.tucker, Lepton1 and Dominick253 Thank this. -
Where
I've never had a boss tell me I couldn't idle. If theydid I would ask if they shut the ac off at home whenever they go to work or vice versa. They never do is my point.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
That was last month. Your safe at the moment, as long as a strait line wind, like the micro burst doesn't get you. As far as guys losing their tires. The area just south of Phoenix is a waste land for tires. I think the super heat then the elevation change when you leave town, exposes any points in your tires. Sometimes there's 3 or 4 different road service's working on someone's tires in that area. Seems like it's mostly drives. When it first got hot, really hot 110+ everyday, It was like solid black between here and Tucson, ADOT had a truck on both sides of 10 constantly picking up tires.
Forecast says it will be back near 110 in about 4 days though lol.Dominick253 and texasbbqbest Thank this. -
Thanks for the great pics Dave. I am a weather enthusiast myself. I love learning about different weather and how it all works, and why things happens at one point in time but not in another that is similar.
If it weren't for me being horrible at advanced math I probably would have been a meteorologist.Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
