They used to not take a 10 hour break,
If they didn't have AC back then, they could stop and nap anytime they wanted and then take drugs to stay awake.
But now a days that doesn't work.

I'd park the truck and tell him to fix it

Honestly, you have two choices. Put up with the garbage, including no "amenities," or go on down the road. You aren't going to change him. All you can do is to make a change yourself.
FWIW in today's trucking, I'd be gone in a heartbeat. Sure there was a time when there were no amenities. There also was a time when goods were transported in wagons pulled by mules.

Yea, tell him to fix the F A/C, or your going to go explore the brave new world of trucking that has amenities.

110 Saturday climbing to 118 Tuesday.

If you are coming through, and have not checked your tire pressures lately, you just have to ask yourself one question.

I don't know how you do it down there Dave. That's way beyond my comfort. Must be like living in the devil's rectum. Today loading in Fresno ca truck said 103, but it doesn't feel too bad because there is a bit of a breeze. I think it measures higher than it actually is. Sit around and wait all day to load today. Going to Toronto. Going to take 15 and 70 hopefully some elevation can provide some relatively comfortable temperatures. No apu and I hate idling.

You climatize. And I have awesome AC at the house lol. Our temp is measured in the shade. Temp on the asphalt or the concrete where the rubber meets the road is 130+.

Take some drugs and then tell him to fix the AC.

Yeah, we're headed in that direction as well, though we hope it doesn't get quite that hot. I've seen 113 here, but I believe that is the highest I've witnessed. We're supposed to have over 110 every day next week. Well hell, it IS summer time. almost...

I have two thoughts about our hot weather. The first one is, THANK GOD I'M NOT IN DEATH VALLEY ANYMORE! Eight years of that was more than enough. But the second thought is more serious.
Just think of our ancestors who may or may not have settled this land. They sure didn't have air conditioning.
