You mean heavy haul isn't easy? It looks easy. Just put it on the trailer, couple flags and banners and go. Oh, and some pieces of paper that you have to have with you in the truck.

    Right? o_O

I've hauled loads that grossed over $100k and I netted just over $12k...sounds pretty good huh? You forgot to ask the important question...I started planning it the first week of one month, and delivered the third week of the month following the month AFTER the second month. Now how does it sound?
I've hauled loads that paid $10k & I've cleared $9+k in less than 24hrs...right place, right time, right equipment.

@Rontonio , @passingthru69 , & I have (as well as others) all easily waited 3 weeks or more for the next load to come along.
I won't tell you what I make, it's really nobody but me and the taxmans business, just like yours is yours.
There are years where if you saw my tax returns, you'd cry. Then there are years when I look at my tax returns and I cry. You need to have good money management skills in this segment of the industry, the swings kill those who don't. And those who don't destroy the rates before they die and we are left to work through the carnage. That's why we don't take kindly to the question you asked, and the way you asked it. It's more insulting than any of the responses you've received. If you walked up to me in a truck stop and asked me that question cold like you did here, I'd tell you to eff off!
That's as polite as I can be.

Ok ok. So some fancy lights, and a hard hat. Maybe a hi-viz vest too? Cripes this is eating into the overhead.

So my sisters cousins boyfriends mother in laws uncle said I might need a pilot vehicle. So like my girlfriends ex-husbands youngest son just got his drivers license. Can he just drive my 1974 AMC Gremlin as my pilot? What's a pilot for anyway, we're not flying anywhere anytime soon

AMC Pacer would be better. Has more window glass all the way around to see, if needed

The lube. That's what you forgot. For the reaming that you get from all the BS that comes with some of those loads. Just sayin.
