I'm an older woman and was wondering how much heavy lifting is involved in truck driving as in repositioning weight or having to repack a full skid etc. I have no idea what's involved but before accepting to pay back a lot of debt, I want to make sure I can do the job.

Also, need to know if there are many class B trucking jobs and anything that entails. If already have a class b would I have to still go through the 6 week training with another driver?

Depends on the company you drive for. Many companies don't want the driver to touch any freight.
    Where is your location?

If you do a dry van, there is no heavy lifting at all, you will just have to climb into the trailer all the time to secure loads with straps

Best thing to do is ask if the company has driver unloads. If so, move on to the next one. Theres plenty out there who dont require driver unloads. If you give your location to @Chinatown, he can probably put you on some good ones?

    Meadow and Puppage Thank this.

Many box truck jobs and cargo van jobs require CDL-A because that's the company policy.

Plenty of jobs driving cargo vans and many hire new cdl graduates. You may get free cdl school through the state WIOA Program.
