Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

####, cost of living must be low down there - $12/hr!
-
That's about what you get for driving a wrecker or dump truck in my area. Of course the dump truck are strait trucks.
U4EA Thanks this. -
I've seen $10 an hr here in San Antonio.. and in Texas, it's about $500 to get all the certs and cards... and $300 a year in renewals... for a $10-12 an hr job? Not happening.
U4EA Thanks this. -
That is minimum starting pay.
Earnings are better than most driving jobs.
And home daily !!!!!U4EA Thanks this. -
Good point....
-
'Cept that you're on call 24/7.. after your regular hours, whatever those are... except for your days off....
-
You are right again..
Everytime somebody posts a job on here,
folks try to pick it apart !!!!
Maybe that's why not many jobs get posted anymore !! -
Nah - wasn't trying to pick it apart, just thought heavy duty towing was more of a "specialty", thus more lucrative.
-
It usually is.... except for bottom feeder companies - I was fairly spoiled during my first few years in towing.. great pay, new trucks, competent owner...
And then found out that most towing companies are populated by cheapskate moron owners, with moron employees.... usually those that USED TO have driving jobs... but wanted to smoke and drink regularly... and feared random tests.
