My name is Don
I am what you call a newbe. I just received my license from New England Tractor Trailer Training school in Bridgeport Connecticut on January 20th. Now I am about to relocate to Florida and "hopefully" start working in the field soon. I am open to all comments and advise that anyone can give me to start out in the field. I look forward to learning from all of you and hope that I may be able to be of help to others as I explore this new life and life style. Hope to talk to each of you as the days go on here.

Welcomer to the forums but why did you get your CDL in CT when you were planning on relocating to FL ? They have a pretty good CDL school in Orlando .

After doing some research I found that getting my license in Connecticut gave me the best training and I was born and raised in CT. The school was ranked among the highest in New England next to Massachusetts. So I wanted only the best that I could get. The school had a great reputation with a 90% grad rate and 95% job placement rate. Which held true. I was able to obtain 8 prehire letters from the major starter companies to get my first year and I wanted to start my new career and lifestyle in a new environment.

Welcome to the forum now is time to pay back that 5000 dollar tab for your school. I'v also read in the forum that Florida is a hard place to get hired out of because there is no freight comin out. Good luck.

I wish it were 5000 try more like 8500 and the government took a lot of it off was originally 10,000. Being a vet helps but not enough.
