I'm terrible at introductions but going to give it a shot here!
Long time lurker and finally decided to sign up. Currently not a driver (and no CDL yet) but really want to be running the roads and relatively sure I want to do skateboards. (Take that however!) Have wanted to since I was a kid but I guess that's the antisocial side coming out. Anywho, approached my family about it (ok I STILL live at home because its cheaper on me plus my folks are getting up there in age plus my job kind of sucks but am working on bettering my life/self) and Daddy seemed much more OK with the idea of his baby girl (I dislike that term!) running the roads alone in a big ole truck than Mom did and TRUST ME both of my folks are rather protective and Daddy is more so than Mom. So that came as a bit of a shocker!
I work the dock and occasionally fill in on the production floor when someone is out but most days involve dealing with cranky truckers most of whom I've became rather good friends with through the years(Almost 6 to be exact!!!). They may come in cranky but they leave laughing! As you can probably figure out, I have no kiddos (hopefully someday will) and no better half so won't have the problem that some do when they get into trucking.
I'm not totally 100% a newbie to it. Cousin drove(still does!) for a "few" decades and spent a few months last year when things were slow riding shotgun with a buddy (ok, thought he was a buddy but turned out to be a complete jerk but we still communicate) who drives. While I was out with him discovered that I like the lifestyle and should have done it instead of going straight from HS to a warehouse and then to 3 different factories! Hindsight is 20/20. Was a major slacker (I HATED the BS classes that never get used in the real world) and chose to go the easiest class path and that involved ag (4.0 gpa in those classes and slept all class!) and a few of the votech classes (welding4.0 in that one and was the first chica EVER to take it in the county and blueprinting/CADD/tool & die..3.9). You make think that's a weird path but at the time I was in HS we were farming (beef cattle, tobacco, hay) and Daddy is a retired heavy equipment mechanic so it was right down my alley. Threw a fit when I got put in a Foods/HomeEc class because that was just way too girly and domesticated like for my liking!

When I'm not at work, I can generally be found working on some old junk tractor or welder or anything else that Daddy brought in(Father/daughter bonding lol). If I'm not doing that am at the dragstrip testing out new mods on my pride and joy/making her pretty/working on her (see pic if it worked right). If not racing or kissing on my baby, can be found anywhere there's some diesels with a buttload of power. You can NEVER have too much power! I do have an addiction to quilting, thanks to my big sister. Got hooked on going to the drags when my brother was younger and dumber and he ran his 77 Nova RS. Am NOT a girly girl but am domesticated. Love camping, fishing, shooting, hunting, and the occasional shopping spree. Am just one of the guys.
