Navy SeaBee's is good. One of my son's got his cdl while driving trucks in the SeaBee's.
He was an EO (Equipment Operator) in the SeaBee's.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who knows
Looks pretty cool, however I think I would prefer more traditional trucking for commerce and what not. But I suppose my opinion may change between now and when I can actually start getting CDL training.

I understand that; once you get the urge for the road, it's nearly impossible to get rid of it. Do what makes you happy and gives you job satisfaction.
When my son was discharged from the Navy he went to work the next day pulling reefers running between Florida and California; mostly hauling seafood.

Driverless trucks are the future. I have seen driverless buses in EU already. After 15-20 years trucker's job will be only local run with small pay check. Eggplant if truck driving is your dream job then just get the CDL and try to find a job. Going to military and coming back to truck driving is not smart. Time is money .

I plan on going into trucking as soon as I can, but I doubt that driver-less trucks can realistically replace the trucking industry. Putting about 3.5 million truckers out of a job and crippling the associated businesses like truck stops would be a huge blow to the economy, even if some businesses get to save money on freight.

Also it seems fairly easy for someone to steal a truck with no driver, or at least steal the freight. o_O

    Just passing by Thanks this.

A computer savvy person can remotely hack into the driverless trucks computer system and control it.

Yeah, while I feel that there may be use to some degree for automated trucks, I don't think the whole industry will be swallowed up by them, for the reasons stated and others. In the end only time will tell, but I don't feel very deterred from trucking because of it.
