Hello all. Found this forum researching information about CDL licensing and sleep apnea. I could not renew my CDL because I did not have a DOT medical card. Florida requires an active DOT medical certificate even if you are not currently using it for work (I believe new FMCSA rules). The information from member's post was extremely helpful to me. There is a path to renew my CDL even with being diagnosed with sleep apnea. I have started the process to obtain the proper documentation needed to get my DOT medical card. Once I have the card I will renew my CDL with Hazmat/Tanker/Doubles & Triples endorsements, get my TWIC card then go out and start applying for jobs.
