Hello from Glider7.......

:smt035Just wanted to say hello to all here in the Forum, I'm new here, and hopefully tomorow, I will pass my CDL test with the DMV. (Have all endorsements except busses/passenger.)
A little about me: I'm 56, single, have a great son (32) and 6 wonderful grandkids. I used to be in this industry back in the 70's & 80's as a union/non-union trailer mechanic. Then I got into the construction field, and have been there since, til this wonderful economy knocked the feet out from under me. I lost my business and now, trying to save my home from foreclosure, I have decided (don't have a clue why,LOL) to get a CDL and try to make a living of somekind.
After reading so so many of the "posts" in here, I am confused as ever as to what company,and what type of trucking to get into.
I do however, want to say, that even tho I've never "driven" for a living, I do know and have complete respect for those of you that do!!!! I can see how tough this industry is, and how much most of you have to sacrafice to put food on the table. My hat is also off to the families that have to sacrafice also.

Not sure if I'm postin this in the right place~~~~~~~~
But, I PASSED ALL my DMV tests first shot! Pre-trip,skill, and road........
Sure glad thats overwith.....Now it's time to chill a couple days and figure out what my next move will be.
