Mr Dude, you are welcome here if you act with decency, not like those others did. I WELCOME open dialog in our fight for truckers' rights and wish someone from JB Hunt would come out in the open and acknowledge there are problems and address those problems. Sir, we are NOT a recruiting site. You are NOT to EVER ask someone to contact you for a job or try to recruit them (I have set you in a new usergroup stripping PM options and such to "keep you honest").

We are NOT going to sit and listen to propaganda from JB Hunt, but if you actively try to address issues with JB Hunt, we will listen. I pray for the day when JB Hunt becomes what they can be actually. We won't sit here and listen to spin, excuses and such...there are no excuses for treating truckers the way JB Hunt does, period.

I do NOT want your money and pay for ALL of this out of my own pocket...I want real change and for truckers to have a better life at JB Hunt. I hope you have strong shoulders as there are literally hundreds of thousands of drivers who despise JB Hunt (and rightfully so). So, you ARE going to get some strong reactions in here. We will make sure members are decent though.

Drivers, here is your chance! Ask JB Hunt WHY they sit drivers for 48 hours (on the weekends) and give them NOTHING...that's right, not a dime. Ask JB Hunt why they have one of the worst recruiting/orientation processes one could possibly fathom (literally do NOT even have drivers approved before they show up for orientation, etc).

I will tend to stay out of this unless my direct intervention is required, I will be a referee and make sure this conversation stays within reasonable bounds, thanks.

Just let me point out that Mr Dude is at the bottom end of the JB recruiting chain, and does not personally make the policies there. He is not the guy responsible for all the companies ills, and shouldn't be treated as such.

When I first read this, I immediately had visions of forum members acting like extras in in old Frankenstein movie where the villagers grab their pitchforks and scythes and head out to storm the gates of Castle Frankenstein. Kindly remember that the monster was not really a monster at his core and actually was a misunderstood soul.

    Here we go again.

My guess is you know who this guy JB Buddy is exactly because he's YOU. It doesn't matter if YOU = JB_Buddy or not. You guys are all clones, so you are one and the same.

Of course you want to answer questions people have. Your pool of fools is running dry, and you're starting to get desperate. It's coming up on another end-of-month charge to the finish.

And....of course.....you give people the heads up on how to contact you. You just gotta get that little dig in, as you know somebody who comes here will take you up on your offer.

You JB insiders just won't stay in the woodwork, will you?

Tip, WiseOne has the ability to find my IP address. Go ahead and ask him, I'm taking the time to contact you from MY HOME on MY PERSONAL TIME. If you have a question, be decent about it, otherwise, I ain't gonna answer jack **** from you. If i'd have wanted people to contact me, i'd have thrown my phone number out there or an email address. And no, we're not clones. you only believe we're clones.

Burky, thanks for the message. and WiseOne, i understand. I will not send messages or directly contact people through this site to work for us.

Weekend Layover is a company policy that's been here long before i have been. and that's only if you sit on the weekends, which I haven't heard much about, but then again, they dont tell us much. We (at least I) do try to contact drivers that were ready for orientation as much as possible, it is that most of the time, they won't pick up the phone. or, that they are away (and it's gotten to the point where i've been giving my home phone to make sure they stay notified of anything and everything that happens, or if they have any concerns to CALL ME AND ASK, PLEASE!!!) I may not have all the answers on hand, but i'm gonna find someone who can get me an answer!

Edit: WiseOne, I also acknowledge the fact that we have problems. Hell, me and a few others have suggested the idea that someone from Lowell go around to the terminals that do orientation, because it seems that there is a serious lack of communication between the HQ and the Terminals, and that people are randomly being thrown out for reasons that I don't see eye-to-eye with. There are the regular reasons (failed drug test, failed DOT physical, etc) but the miscommunication in some situations is out of control.

I just wondered. Sheepdancer is a JB recruiter on another forum. He seems OK from what little I have read of his posts.

I personally say welcome here. There are some people who may give you a hard time. They may have a bad taste for recruiters from past experience. You can't judge all recruiters by a few.

Many times I have been embarrased to say I drive a truck because of the actions of other drivers. This shows you can't judge all drivers by the actions of some of them also.

The last recruiter here did everything wrong in his first post, and he received a lot of flack for it, plus was banned. I was right ticked off myself.

I understand Wiseones concern. I just wish some of the main wheels at JB would come here for open discussion.

I have opinions about the major role JB Hunt played in making OTR into what it is today. They were one of the pioneers of mega companies underpricing and sweeping aside smaller competition. They also started the months out and a few days home trend that has taken over OTR driving. Not a good thing in my opinion.

Back to recruiting, I have only spoken with one recruiter. It happened to be a JB recruiter who called on the company phone wanting the first shift driver. He ended up trying to recruit me, but when I told him what I did, and my required home time, he was good enough to say he couldn't offer anything like I had.

He was doing his job, and was nice and polite. I can't argue with anyone doing that.

Respect and manners goes a long way on both sides, the drivers and the recruiters. Too many times neither have either.

Thanks for being decent, Mr Dude. Also, yes, SheepDancer WAS a JB Hunt recruiter (confirmed via IP) and he has been relieved from the board. Mr Dude is being decent, I will not put up with the others from JB Hunt coming in and doing a cheerleader dance in here though. Thanks.
