I've been lurking around here for a few months, asked a few questions and figured I'd introduce myself.
I'm Josh, 24 from NJ and am in the process of gathering equipment to start an excavating company. I can't stand driving long distances or OTR trucking lol.
This weekend I picked up my dump truck for the business. She's a 1988 Peterbilt 378 with a 400 Cummins and 13 speed. It started life as a tandem tractor and was shortened to a single axle dump truck with a 33k GVWR... it's defiantly got some power for a small dump truck!
It needs minor work. Very healthy motor for having 600k miles on it. Minor air leak, inside door handle doesn't work, missing passenger window handle, front tires, passenger turn signal housing and their is an electrical issue with the Jake brake (none of the solenoids are working and I assume it's a switch issue at the clutch or pump). Fires right up in 40 degree weather and puffs light blue for about 10 minutes and then doesn't smoke at all.
