Hello everyone. It's great to be a member of this huge trucker family. I drove straight truck on and off since 1998. I got my CDL in 2009. I never dreamed I would become a trucker. I started out as a steel hauler my first year, now I work for a small trucking company 2 1/2 miles up the road from my house. We do drop and hook, and flatbed. I enjoy flatbed alot. It keeps me moving and helps me stay in good physical shape. I am 52 years old, and single with no kids,,,so trucking works out great for me. The company I work for treats me great, and the money is good also. I fell off of my flatbed early December and really messed up my left wrist. Had surgery and I am starting my seventh week of occupational therapy. Quitting the painmeds was a little tough because after 6 weeks of taking 6 to 8 percocets a day, as perscribed,,, I built up a physical dependancy. I can't see how people can like being constipated and sluggish,,,yuck,,,. My doctor switched me to tramadol which is not schedualed and I will be aloud to take it if I need to when back on the road. I'm on light duty doing inventory. Anxious to get back on the road. I came hear to learn from the old timers, and anyone else who can teach me a few things. Thanks for having me here, and I hope I can be of some help to other truckers.
