I'm sure it has been covered here and i haven't found it yet. so let me start by apologizing for asking something that has already been covered. I am not new to driving but have never been to Canada and now i just loaded in Houston TX with an oversize and am in route to fort mackay AB. I have filled for my passport but it has not come in yet i do have my birth certificate and several other forms of id. so my question is what can i expect when i get to the border and beyond also any tips about driving in Canada as an American would be appreciated. thanks Opie

Driving in Canada is no big deal but you wont have to worry about it without a passport because you wont be getting in.
-
i was told that it wouldnt be a big deal with my birth certificate
-
Why would you even accept a load going into Canada if you don't have a passport?
Just asking for a service failure, IMO. -
No passport, no Moosehead beer.
You need a passport.
And a tuque. -
No Moosehead?!!!
Deal-breaker! -

From what I understand, you won't have any trouble getting into Canada. It's getting back into the US that might be the problem.
Go on ahead, Driver. Better get a mail box in Alberta. So you can have your passport mailed to you. -
^^^^^this
the getting in part won't be the problem. -
OK what the heck is a tuque?
