WWDX a lot of fun, but from a greater level of knowledge.
Kindy-garten ‘round here it’s own kind of “special”.
Glad you’re joining in.jessejamesdallas Thanks this. -
Thx...it was time...i learned everthing from maul droppers wwdd and experimenting on video... Not that I'm an expert by any means lol

Sometimes it seems more so from the non traveling folks on wwdx stranded their entire life in a single city who somehow think they know something because they read it in a book or webpage instead of experiencing something firsthand.Slowmover1 Thanks this.

I experienced working DX to Oregon and Washington today. That was a first time occurrence, we never get northwest skip.

Radio operation from a fixed position is distinctly different than mobile. And then again “mobile” can be distinguished AGAINST big truck as its another level of change.
On the one hand, stationary operation offers more opportunity for improvements. Greater control, as it were. Longer term experiments. A far deeper well of experience from which to draw.
On the other, trying to understand a “weird” antenna system (composite fleet-issue tractor) when it’s outside of one’s experience can (not necessarily “will”) make for bad assumptions. Meaning, assumptions that MAY work, but fall short of expectations.
A typical car/pickup with a mag-mount on the roof is almost King of the Road (pilot cars) when it comes to all-around CB mobile performance.
Leave out steel-bodied big trucks and make the comparison STRICTLY from stationary to this very tall, composite body mobile install, is where the misunderstandings gather.

You as well, sir. Sorry I missed this earlier.

So (tongue-in-cheek), we are waiting for the working prototype of:
THE
1) UPPER-FAIRING
2) CO-PHASE
3) DI-POLE
ANTENNA SYSTEM.
Gematria, Inc
“Signal De-Coding Our Specialty”
What’s the projected roll-out date?
Don’t read this as smart aleck. Not entirely. What sounds intriguing would be a huge PITA just to install. (A few days to get it ALL; this ain’t happening over a 10 at the Love’s). Which backs both our observations.
Unless you’ve devised a suitable mod of the Amateur Radio crews beloved method of using bow & arrow to get their wire into the trees.
But if you have, we will add it to the next Trucker Rodeo as an event.
Or maybe we should just get some MAGA hats on something about Making Amateur Radio Great Finally.
