    Most trucks will never see 80 unless they were not paid attention to properly downhill. And at that point it's way too fast. So the company disposed of the OP. Great moving on to other companies is my guess. Any driver who is any good would know to rein in a semi that is thinking about going to 80. I could be one or I would not be one. Two different experiences on my end. The later trucks had a governor and its pretty easy to hold em at 65 or whatever downhill if the situation allows for it.

    The new motors will never get damaged by running them to 80. With most of the rears being 2.something:1. They won’t even be close to the governor.
    4:11 rears with 13 od on tall 24.5’s will run 85 at 2100 all day and night a week straight and never get hurt back in the day.

    I understand where you come from. Its the mountain I have in mind. There are some hills where 80 is just too fast. I should have clarified.

    I think that I have once or twice just to see what my truck will do but typically the fastest I run is 72
