    I understand.

Doesn’t matter though. That only means you didn’t damage it MUCH.

Hell, my company hit a driver with a preventable for a dock bumper falling off after he bumped it.

If you are getting bed sores on your butt from sitting in the truck, you need to shower more than a couple times a month. There are plenty of resources in the US for a driver to get cleaned up. You get 10.5 hours every day to take care of yourself. Health and hygiene are going to keep you going for 10, 15 or 20 more years, and it's nobody but your responsibility to maintain it. You get 10.5 hours a day to take care of yourself.

Come to Canada where showers aren't available every 20-30 miles at every exit. When I was running Western Canada, I could still find a shower 4 out of 5 days a week despite them only really being at truck stops in mainly the major cities.

A driver that takes the time to care for themselves will have a long future in this industry.

Excellent. You can get those endorsements at any time. You might actually like some of the other forms of trucking. Give it a go.

Like my wife said to me when we first started dating and I gave her the L-word, "Words are great, but you need to prove it." You'll need to learn real quick in trucking that if you can't "walk the talk" nobody is going to give you any respect.

I completely somehow missed this particular issue.

We call this bed sores in a caregiving kind of work for those who have been in bed long enough to get it. Then they become infectious, gets into the blood and kill by shutting down organs in septis.

Showering, cleaning up etc even if it is bird bathing in the bunk house on your tractor is sufficient to maintain basic hygene. You do need a supply of adequate wipes, cleaning materials of your choice for your body and so on. Just because there is no shower in the pilot or something right then is no excuse not to try and keep yourself clean. Hell Ive tarped a flatbed once in a howling thunderstorm (Thankfully I did not get nuked by lightning... but after tarping.. why even bother I don't know...) I took 10 minutes to run around in the rain with some soap and nature took care of the rest. They thought I was crazy. But it is what it is. An oppertunity to get clean.

Even the colorado river at the california border with Arizona is a chance to hop in and get that dust out. They don't like it at all but it's a chance. You don't need much.

If you and are having open sores, then it's a true medical problem that will eventually kill you if not resolved.

For the life of me considering the air ride on the tractor, airride on the bunk, airride in the drivers seat and more airride on the steers and trailer etc etc etc if you are sore... something aint right here me thinks. Nature has a solution for that in the form of callouses. Never mind the possibility of teasing and jokes. Sores are nothing to laugh at.
