Don’t get defensive about that. The deep wounds thing is confusing. I know you retracted it- but it took me back for a minute to.
I contacted hire right to get the ran off the road changed, hire right sent a message to get it disputed but werner refused to change it. Werner wrote that I ran off the road and that makes it sound worse. It was a tire blowout and I did have control of the truck.
Why? You made a mistake. Admitting it was your fault, learning from it and preventing it from happening again is the maturity that trucking companies want to see. They don't want to sit down with a driver and have that driver tell them "You have to give me this job, I worked really hard to get where I am". Humility is hard, but you have to learn how to be humble to stay afloat in this industry. You have to drop the attitude or you'll never sit behind the wheel ever again. At least at a respectable company that will help your career. This attitude leads to drivers who think they know everything, have an answer to every question (even if it's wrong) and think they can't ever do wrong. Trust me, Mother Nature and the Road have a funny way of teaching these drivers how wrong they are.
I feel like I'll never get another trucking job and that hurts me. I worked hard for it and I really want to get back out on the road. Am I screwed for life or what?
I never said I know everything, I'll never get better if all I get is a no from every company, I have bills and credit and I can't pay and my credit is getting damaged.
Here is all my blood and tears too. HA. That DAC contains exactly what the charge put into it against a given driver, there is a method to learning what that is and a rebuttal system. It's been covered in mountains of other threads here. It is how the industry weeds out the bad apples. It is the way it is.
Has anyone actually rejected your application?. I'm wondering if you are stressing too much about the DAC. Send out applications and see who responds.
