Thanks for sharing your experience JT, its good to get new driver perspective. For some reason, it just is really unexplainable as to why new drivers can't comprehend the feeling of being gone until they are out there. I did the same so this is why I am so puzzled. Maybe its the excitement or nervousness and your mind is just telling you it will be ok or that you will deal with it as it comes but it just is really unfathomable as to the feeling of being gone until you are actually gone!

Brianman, take these company stories with a grain of salt. A company some drivers absolutely hate maybe perfect for you and you have a long lasting career with. Your absolute best bet though for success is to steer clear of the mega-carriers and try to get on with a smaller company. Your experience and the money difference will be huge!

Like I said before though, you are definitely a dedicated man, so maybe this will be a good thing...

Are they going to train you to get your class B? My cousin works for them.

This is true, but the only problem is going 3 weeks without making any money during the school.:biggrin_2557:

If you decide this is the route you are going to take try looking into company schooling. Also have yourself a giant yard sale right before you go. This will help put some cash in your hands!

If I decided to do the company training route, I would probably wait until after the first of year when we get our income tax return, that way cash would not be a problem.
