wishing all you new guys the best! After doing a ton of research, and deciding that Millis was by far my 1st choice, I was very disappointed to find out they don't hire from my area in Eastren NC (45 minutes east of I95). I was told they never have frieght going that way...was a bit surprised...Dam!

Welcome aboard. Many of us on here changed careers in our 40's as you see. I'm sure you'll do fine and things will work out. I for one have a Bachelors in Computer Science. I opted to not follow that path seeing how saturated the field is and the pay constantly dropping. So as you said, I did no see the security in it. Just another rat race on the grid. Best of luck to you.

Just to touch on what Bear said - I left Corporate America after 25 years of managing Call Centers all over the US, Near-Shore and Off-shore. I left the stress behind and have never been happier! However I use my "business and P&L" experience each day to ensure I manage things effectively. At 49 I am one of the oldest to "restart" their career so dont worry - If I can do it - anyone can!

The good part of being older is most drivers think you have been around a long time and you get a lot less crap LOL!

Thanks for the feed back. Im not looking forward to the pay cut but I figure with your job being such a large part of your life you might as well do what makes you happy.

    ricrey99 Thanks this.

Well I just paid my deposit and am all set for school in Trenton on Jan 23. It is really starting to feel real LOL. I am looking forward to working with a company that seems to have it figured out.." trying to keep employees happy". Happy employees will go the extra mile for the company. I cannot wait to go the extra mile for Millis!
