The one good thing about having different divisions especially if you have never driven a big truck is that if one type of trailer doesn't suit you, you can move around and still work for the same employer. This avoids changing companies. I pull a flatbed and it took several years for me to decide that's what I wanted to pull.

Probably won't leave Springfield till .Mon.

Hey, anyone know what length bungee is best for use with snow chains. I want to organize my bungees and make sure I have enough on hand.

No comments about how you never use them, cuz I do under the right circumstances. Someone who knows. In the past I've had to use some bungees that were too long, as that was all that was available at the time.

I have never heard of a set length. If it's to long just run it in a circle weaving it in a
& out of the outer ring. All so they have a set of snow chain rubber snubbers at the T/S (T/T at least) These are great but only for the outer chains. You should have a bungi for the inner side.

Try putting on Chains from a wheel chair. Been there done that (stupid four wheeler stopped to take a pic nright in the lane).

I used 2 x 21" bungies on each chain (cross pattern) the last time I tossed iron. Worked well. BTW, otherhalftw has a thread on chaining that's interesting.

    Parking is great.

However, some truckers say "never put on chains to drive into a situation, only to get out of a situation"

So what do you do when caught in a situation?

Well I guess I might just want to make it a point to ask if someone will teach me then.
