Been here since late Oct. Started as a B seat because I got off the road for awhile.
Made the mileage quota in no time to up-grade to A seat but my Trainer and I hit it off pretty good after a few bumps at first.
He suggested staying on with him as a team and he matches my weekly pay that I get from Prime as a B seat.
The money is great, the loads are always available and we are always running straight out.
I'm from CT so there is always freight going there, coming out or passing threw so getting home has not been a problem. Actually every week if I wanted.
So what i'm getting at here is,
If your thinking about Prime as a carrier that is on your list to call.
    Do it.......
It was a very good decision for me.
I just wish I wouldn't have waited so long.
Any questions from Newbies or Old timers alike just post here and ask or PM me.
And no, I am not a recruiter or getting paid for this message. I am just very happy for, what I am doing and for, where I am at.
    Financially and Mentally

Great post bigcheese. I totally agree with you. I'm doing the flatbed and even though its December and freight has slowed down we are still moving. Ad far as big cheese said about going home since I came on I have been to the house three times. I live in southern california and they do have freight going there. Not to mention that the times I have gone home was not for home time it just happen that the load was delivering in LA and I got there on a Friday night so can't deliver till Monday. For any drivers from southern California thinking about prime they can get you home. I to should have made this move a long time ago.

Anyways hope everyone is having. Great day and Merry Christmas...........:smt114:smt114:smt114:smt114:smt114:santa::santa:

I'm about to call Gracie tomorrow and confirm my bus ticket to Springfield,MO tomorrow. The bus leaves every Monday at 5PM and has terrible lay-overs. From Montgomery,AL to Springfield,MO is a 22-hour bus ride. Prime seems like a great company to work for. This will be my first company. I will go in as a 'C-Seat' driver due to my current CDL holding. I surely hope everything works out in my favor. I have no health problems, no CDL MVR record problems, and I hope that they hold their promise of free meals while at orientation. Also I'm counting on the payday advance. If all goes well, I'll finally becoming a trucker ready to learn everyday and get better constantly. I know this is standing out on faith, but sometimes you have to go out the get what you want. I don't want to look back one day regretting that I didn't take this trip. If anything, this would be a good vacation trip away from the deep South.

Just remember, its about gross revenue - NOT MILES. The fewer miles you drive to get that revenue, the more you have left in your back pocket.

IP, do you have any idea what kind of revenue there is in WM delivery loads (as in grab from DC, and toodle around delivering to the stores.) This is JCW's run today. Start at 01, deliver 4 stops, go back to the start point for the 90.

The only time I ran one of those was on the company-side. JCW can get the gross revenue figures on all his loads simply by asking his FM for them. What I found a couple of years ago was company-side loads averaged around 15% lower than what Sazook told me he was averaging on the lease side at that time. Keep in mind the economy and trucking revenue was in worse shape back then.

    DragonTamerBrat Thanks this.

You'll be fine at SPRIMO guy. they will feed you, always, no matter what. The food at the hotel isn't the best but it works. When you go the Milennium building for the first time don't forget to pick up your jaw. It is going to blow you away how well we are treated. I personally did not go there till I got my permit. Didn't feel as though I had the right to be there yet, but that was a personal choice for me. Now I get in there everytime I get the chance. Pittston is a mini version and is almost done with their rehab. Look forward to seeing you on the road:biggrin_25525:
