The email noted that I'm supposed to introduce myself. Thus:
1. I'm Don.
2. I'm an old guy but have a lot to learn prior to cashing in.
3. I drive a T800 KW for Sourdough Express, mostly from Anchorage to Mile 196 of the Parks Highway (a little more than half way to Fairbanks) where we switch trailers with drivers from the Fairbanks terminal (& corporate HQ). We generally run with two 45' trailers. Sourdough (SDX) is mostly a flatbed outfit. But we run a fair number of reefers.
4. Used to drive for a lot of big old companies that have given up the ghost, viz. CF, Ringsby, P.I.E (the red, black, and silver PIE, not that red, white, and blue outfit that appeared to have the name but not the character).
5. Have more than a million miles -- and lots of miles in a sleeper (if CF sleepers could be called sleepers -- they were more like compressors).
6. Probably liked hauling acid and like commodities about as much as anything because of the interesting stuff produced therefrom, but flatbed work is more challenging; ergo more fun.
7. Like to hang with the grandkids, drink beer, shoot, fish, and generally help out.
8. I suspect that I've said too much already.
9. Never cared much for emoticons.
10. Hope this satisfies forum rules, conventions, etc.
