k, wasnt sure. had heard that prime was buying trucks from wherever they could. lots of new drivers coming in and freightliner isnt able to supply that many lightweights in such a short time frame. just what i had heard around the terminal.
-
That's right. The class 8 truck manufacturers are gearing up as fast as they can from the economic sh%t storm, and carriers are having to replace a lot of older trucks all at the same time. That's why we've picked up on some Internationals and KWs.
-
What are the trucks goverened at and is it different for reefers vs flatbeds or tankers ?
-
Not that I know of. The last spec I heard was 58 on the pedal, 62 cruise for company types. 61 on the pedal, 65 cruise for lease ops.
Gotta check on that myself... had a rumor that perhaps the lease side had changed. -
Why would lease ops be governed? It's your money you're burning with a heavy right foot, after all.
-
Guy Im with now is 65/65. He's a lease op. Our flatbed trucks have the headache rack for all our gear, that's only difference
-
Lease trucks are governed because Prime runs in Canada, and the provinces of Ontario and Quebec require all trucks that run in them to be governed at the KPH equivalent of 65MPH.
