If Squire doesnt take me back , can you list some good companies that are close to mississippi that I might have a shot with. The reason I wanted to go with Squire is mainly to do the slip seat for Knight and get better home time. Knight in Gulfport MS is only an hour drive from me. Trust me I will try my best and hope they will take me back but I do have to have other options in case they dont.

No I did not quit just cause he wasnt nice to me. He made me nervous , this guy was not a people person and not sure if he should be a trainer. I felt like I had to sleep with one eye open. I started having trouble sleeping too. Also I can hold my bladder pretty good but when you got to go you got to go. The man got mad because I had to go to the bathroom. I am human like anyone else.

Why not try just going straight to Knight then? Location of the companies main terminal actually doesn't help much in regards to hometime, as long as you can find a place to park the truck. When I was OTR, the companies terminal was on the other side of the country and I was still home once every 2-3 weeks.

You should have requested a different trainer then, instead of quitting.

I hope you did alot of thinking for a yr because trainers have'nt changed. You don't like your trainer request another one simple as that.Just find a company outside of your state. You should stay out to get the exp.OTR companies is just that OVER THE ROAD which means you stay out 4 weeks at least.Far as going to the bathroom, why did'nt you have a bottle handy and go in there, lol.

Sorry, but when I started out it was in a COE, with a 34" bunk, and spring suspension. 48 state team operation. I knew diddley about trucking, but was willing to put up with anything to learn the ropes, because I was GREEN!

few things you should know or learn befor you go back to trying to be a driver.
    1. trainers are not supose to be nice and should push the hell out of you especially the first few weeks.
    2. 6 weeks you will be luckly few you u know how to steer and gear.
    3. sounds like you want to be home a lot,not some thing that most people get there first few years out here.
    4. the list just goes on and on. but if you realy think 6 weeks is enough you really need to rethink what you want to do.
been driving off and on scence i was 15 thats 40 years the last 22 years thats all i have done i'am still learning something ever day out here. and as fare as being nice to me some days people are some days not. but this life style will never be nice to you ever day. it is a hard and unfor giving life on. g you and your familly good luck

And trucking is not the only job that I started out green at, and everyone of them required a little bit of "fortitude" to just BEGIN to learn the job.

What, exactly, do you expect trucking to be like, and what do you expect your first year to be like?
