Them things happen. Fortunately for you, it won't happen again!

Your talking about the wing window, there 75.00 at freightliner here in Bakersfield. And no you should not have to pay for it if there a decent company. Our company will tell you to break the wing window to get in. Do not tell Roehl the truth tell them you were parked and someone tried to get in and you stoped them before they got in because you heard the glass break and came running.
They lie to drivers so turn about is fair play, and its a write off for them.Southern2aTea Thanks this. -
Never brake the blindspot window.

The little side window is the most expensive one.

Be a man and tell them what happened. Don't lie to them. You lie and they find out and you lose all your credibility. You don't want that. Do that and you can kiss being number one on any board.

If they would charge a driver for a broken window they do not deserve the truth. It has nothing to do with being a man. I would tell the company I work for the truth because they deal with us without lying to us. They would not charge us for a window or anything else on the truck, because its there responsibility to start with.
So if you believe the company is honest them yes tell them the truth, and if they penalize you in anyway, it is now game on, getting your money back anyway necessary is fair game.
When I first started for Valley Bulk I got the truck stuck in a field of mud (behind Carl's Jr in Needles) that I should not have been in anyway, followeda track already there across a field and sank. I paid the tow bill, the towing company sent a copy of the paid bill to the company. Next week I got called into the owners office and I thought , OK its over now. He payed me the 250.00 bucks back cash, and thanked me. Also told me not to pay the expenses as these were his trucks and his responsibly. I have never had them even question expense that I have turned in since.Southern2aTea and skellr Thank this. -
Where are you located? If you are close to me. Go get the window and I can put it in for you

Let us know how it turns out and anything else they tell you. I keep a flat key in my back pocket, and always check to make sure it is there before locking the truck, but working on things can get the extra you have lost, best to have another you can get to on the truck, also, it's there in case someone needs to get in with your permission.
FL keeps changing the key blanks they use, the 2008 was a longer blank than the 2005 and 2000 and the Cascadia uses a different one again.
I have had good luck at Home Depot for finding a blank to match and having them cut it. The last ones I got at the local hardware store per shop order, and they had the right blanks.Southern2aTea Thanks this. -
I agree keep a key in your pocket all the time, I leave the ignition key in the interior hidden when I get out it never leaves the inside of the cab. Also I tie wrap a key either in the battery box or under the hood, move it around bt always put it back. I get my 2 extra keys from the shop, there again this is there responsibility to supply them since your saving them the road call. The company I drive for put the battery box key in when they first service the tractor new before a driver gets it.
