If this happened in a truck stop or anywhere that there may have been any other trucks. I would've asked those drivers if you could borrow their key to see if it worked. I've been there....done that....got jipped out of the tshirt though!!

Well everybody my husband's fleet manager called this morning and he told him the truth. Everything was fine. He basically told him to put cardboard over it and after a relay tomorrow, he will get him to a terminal to get it fixed. He says it's happened before and no big deal.
One day he will learn to listen to methanks for all the insight guys! I've been reading on this site for a while. It was very helpful when we were trying to decide this career change!!!
thanks!!!str8rida Thanks this. -
Always, always always USE THE KEY TO LOCK THE DOOR. That way you know that the lock isn't frozen, broken or otherwise disabled AND you know that you have your key!
str8rida and Southern2aTea Thank this. -
KW and Pete and Volvo are the only smart companies who make it impossible to lock the door without using the key.
red_eye, Southern2aTea and SGTSmokdU Thank this. -
I ALWAY'S carry "2" set's of key's in my POCKET.
Southern2aTea Thanks this. -
How did you lock the key inside? My columbia won't let me- I have to lock the door with the key. But for those times you lose the key somewhere, it's nice to have a spare zip tied to the truck somewhere.
Southern2aTea Thanks this. -
He was getting out if the truck to grab something and pushed the lock down with his hand. Oops!
-
It happens, glad it turned out well. Now that he HAS to listen to make him get two spare keys, zip tie one under the hood somewhere and keep the other in his pocket!
I'm sure you will not let him forget thisSouthern2aTea Thanks this. -
He will not forget this! That's for sure. We are going zip tie one, put one in his wallet and I'm going to keep one

I doubt they will even charge you. Replacing the window is cheaper than calling road service.
JoeSouthern2aTea Thanks this.
