Glad it is all taken care of. Although having a key in your pocket at all times is a great idea, I would definately suggest hiding another key on the truck somewhere as well, either zip tied or a hide a key box. I too alwasy kept an extra key in my pocket, well except for 'that one time'. I believe it was in CA, maybe NV. I stopped at a small road side 'town'. In my hurry to get out and find the restroom I forgot to double check my pocket for my spare key. A few minutes later I came out to a small problem, my truck running with my spare key, cel phone, and wallet inside. I figured no problem I could use a wire coat hanger and get in more than likely. I have years of experience in a body shop and tow trucks, lock outs are a part of it all. The only problem was that NO ONE had a wire coat hanger, I checked the convience stop, the hotel and store which was all of town. It was about 8 years ago, I figured someone would have one. I walked around behind the places where there was some trash here and there from over the years looking for anything that might work. I was to the point of looking for a rock to bust the window with and actually found a wire hanger that looked like it had been laying there waiting for me for a couple years. After I finally had the hanger, it took me maybe 2 minutes to open up the truck. Straightened it out with a small hook at the end and stuck it down into the door next to the main window and poked around a little bit. After that I had a hide a key box under the cab just in case. I like the zip tie idea better though. Thankfully I was driving an FLD and it turns out they are pretty easy to get into, easier than any car I have ever had to get into. Funny how a truck is so much money not to mention it's potential load, and it is so easy to get into to, with the ignitions they have I am certain they would be easy to hot wire as well. Seems like the turck makeers could learn a thing or two from the auto makers lol.

I find it amazing to read how many said to just lie about it to their company.

Slant6,
I know!!! My husband( the one who broke the window) and I believe in honesty. We also believe in karma. Even though he doesn't always listen to me when he should, he is man enough to admit his mistake and to be honest.VisionLogistics, TRKRSHONEY and Treefork Thank this. -
Just buy one. You broke it, you pay for it.

If some else has thrown this out there I'm sorry to repeat, but the glass is about 40 bucks and the labor to replace It ! Fix it and learn from your mistake . Not a biggie.

Ok so some say lie to Rohel, what would you have told them?I really doubt lieing would have worked. You're responsible for the trk and trl while on hometime and no matter what you're going to have to pay for it.But in this case, the window is going to get fixed back at the terminal so maybe he won't have to pay to get it fixed or maybe it'll be cheaper then a shop near his home would have costed.

only way i lock my doors is with my key fob, that way i always know i have the keys with me.
