Are you talking about the "warning" buzzer that comes on when air pressure is low? If so, if you ever get a level 3 inspection and the buzzer doesn't work during the brake test, you will get put out of service until fixed. I imagine if they found out you disabled it, you might get a ticket.

I've seen it somewhere but I can't remember. Maybe it was YouTube. But the guy took a cheap little speaker and soldered it to the old buzzer connections and it worked great. It's on the back of the cluster.

    I'll see if I can't find it.

Just fix it!! Your asking for big problems if you have an inspection like mentioned above.

Here's an example with some car? but it's the same with all clusters. Yours might be exposed and part of a circuit board but it's two connections, positive/negative that you will have to solder. You could even go to a junk yard and retrieve one off another cluster. A cheap way to save $1000.

Here's another forum with picture instructions. This guy said he used a walkie talkie speaker. Keep in mind the larger the louder. You want about a 1" speaker if you can find one.

Find your sensors for low air and tee you in a couple of old school sensors that close below 70 psi. Get you some type of buzzer or beeper (sonic alert for example) and wire you up a circuit that will tie it all together. Keep everything totally separate of any backfeed into Volvo's system. Check your buzzer for amp draw, if it's very much, you probably will need a relay to keep low air sensors from trying to pull the load and not lasting long. Put it on a switched circuit and fuse it at power source. I'm not familiar with Volvo's sensor locations, but you should have one for primary and one for secondary pressure, meaning you will need two sensors. One side of your sensors will have to be tied together so which ever one closes will complete circuit to buzzer. You can series the wire to the other side of each one. If the Volvo sensors have some kind of porting base you can't tee, tee block the lines and put your old school sensors in the tee block. Use a four or five pin relay and you can set it up to work positive or negative through the sensor circuit. Be a whole lot cheaper than a grand.

There are Independent Businesses that repair the Cluster on the Internet for far less than the Volvo Stealership, ..........Goggle it,....... it's your friend.
