Jas have you upped the trim Files in that Acert or are they still std? CAT Series 4 ECM’s made for trying to stop the Trim code manipulation but its still easily done with 6 different files.

Haven't played with any trim files in Acerts, They are actually very easy to manipulate, you can pull them apart in notepad but I am not sure what to change, need to get off my ### and build myself an Acert ecm test bench. Have you tried any different ones on an injector test bench? was there much differnence?

yeah there is a variation on the bench which is worth noting for sure.. As I mainly work on Earthmoving i haven't kept a lot of Acert Trim files however the best way to test them is to use an older C16 ECM and trim using the 4 digets as per usual. Then dig out the trim code file list and work with that
The Ecode in the rim file is different to the actual Trim code itself but if you take a good look at ALL the trim files Ecodes and the trim stamped on the Injector you will find they are all the sum of 9999 so it dont take long to sus out and make a master list.

I can get 5 CC over 100 shots at 6mm rack with a volume of 30cc so we ar looking at a good 15~20% over each cylinder

As each injector varies and you need 6 different files so it makes it more interesting.
If you have a truck you want to test, send me the 6 trim files that are in that particular Truck and I will test them and see whay value they are at and send you back 6 new Trim files and which injectors to program into.

Actually Jas if you send me the trim files of a CD (Zipped up) for the10R1273/249-0709 Acert Injectors as well as the trims in the truck I will work out a handful of alternative trims you could use across those injectors.

Jas, if you're looking for a truck to play with. Mine is usually sitting around doing nothing.

I can turn it back to std for the testing and then put the good tune back in and see if it's batter again!

Pitty there isn't a Dyno around.

Would be really good to get some REAL data on paper.

    Tony

BTW truck does just under 80kph up Hawksberry south bound (43ton all up) 17th gear 4.11 diffs.

So we,ve got 20kph to find somewhere then...:biggrin_255:

Yeah, lack of a dyno is an issue, the closest one worth using is in huntingwood in Sydney at Gilbert and Roach, may have to organise a trip down there one day.

I never noticed that, I will send you some from Tonys when I get a chance, The 625 in question is more about improving fuel than horsepower, and its a company truck so I am limited to what I can do, thats why no fuel wire ,etc.

I haven’t met anyone who has noticed the 9999 so your not alone Jas. Took me a while to sus that out hahahahah
The first data block is the header info.
The second data block is the trim info mixed in with a lot of nothing else
The third data block is simply information such as Part number, E-code, Serial number etc.
The best way to work with them is in something like HEX Workshop.

I can look and test the trim codes that are in this truck and that will tell me where each injector is at and how much head room they each have. This will tell me how much you can go up EVENLY. If at all. Sometimes you need to bin (or service them) one or two injectors that is two low to make a good set of six but until I know the trim codes or files I cant tell you what you have.
Why mess with the wires? Just let the ECM control 6 Good even injectors and you won’t need wire mods.

Keep in mind the best way is to bench test them but I can work something out close enough for you to test simply, and you then should see a better fuel return on the same truck.

Im not personally a big fan of wires, tricking sensors is generally a bad way to operate but you cant deny the effectivness of a fuel wire, they are cheap to make, are easily removable when required and add good horsepower.

Do you know if the trim info (the four "8 digit" and two "10 digit" HEX numbers) follow numerical order or are they ramdom in nature like conventional 4 digit trims.

Totally random to deter you and me. Yes the wire mods are simple and effective but not for me... I'm happy to have it all run smoothly via the Factory ECM with factory injectors with just a small trim adjustment to Lets say "Balance" them.
    I first priority is Smooth
    Second is Fuel
    3rd is a power bonus
