You can spray either way. See if fuel is returning out of the check valve off the back of the head. This will tell you if you are picking up fuel. When I put injectors in mine I didn't have a hard time getting it primed.

After tearing into the wiring harness, I found a bad looking wire going to the cam sensor but this didn't make a difference after fixing it. Then I notice without the wire loom, there seem to be enough lenght to reverse the wires from cam to the turbo pressure/air intake sensor. And they were identical connectors.I must've had the wire harness laid in a different position before tear down to make it work this way. Because I switched these wire connectors and tried and the engine started right up.
I have notice there are identical sensor connectors when tearing the engine down but also was told the wires only reach to the right sensor which this did seem to be the case.
Now I'm going to have to use additional wire loom to make it back into a harness.
It's a great feeling to know I now have a complete new engine.
I would love to post some pictures if anyone knows how I could email them. -
sounds great.

Ha reminds me when we did our out of frame on 1 of my DDECS, it started on the second try. First try we had all kinds of oil coming out of the mottom righthand side of the engine. We're like WT_ ? Oh guess it would hold oil better if we put the oil filters on.....Flightline Thanks this.
