Good luck with that one. It becomes part of his personnel file IF it's done correctly. Otherwise, it stays with the units maintenance function and most people don't even know who to talk to on that part as well.

In short, it is NOT centralized like many states license system is. Every unit handles the paperwork differently. Even though I was our units license person and road tester for too many years, I highly doubt I would accept someones military experience as a civilian driver.

As long as he's not a complete idiot, he should have enough experience not to run people over, lol. If he's really bad, it won't take him long to sideswipe something. Accidents aren't a slap on the wrist when you drive company material, lol.

Did you have to pay for going into their AC club and drink their cold beer? I'd see that you had a pass if we were there.

More and more states are having special requirements for military drivers. One might get their CDL easily on their own and go straight to training behind the wheel. There are a few companies that accept zero experience.

Here's my state TN effective 7/1/13.

My stepson, who I helped raise since he was 3 yrs. old, was an EO (Equipment Operator in the SeaBees. He spent 6 years in the SeaBees, then went to work OTR a few days after discharge. I have friends that were drafted & put in the Marines and some in the Navy. I served with them & they were shocked, thinking being drafted they automatically went into the Army.

When I went to be sworn in after enlisting in the Marines all branches were there . Draftees were randomly selected for the Marines . Draftees were not highly regarded by drill instructors at boot camp .

Sure for the right price. We had a excellent supply system that worked very well. Of course you might see some generals name sprayed over but that must have been from the last war.

I dont regret getting out at all, I just miss the deployments and the comraderie with my platoon/squad and company. About the only good thing is the healthcare and PX benefits..the check is lousy for 20 years of service and you are so stuck in your ways after that long especially if you made it past E-8. I loved my time in, wouldnt trade it for the world though. If I could just deploy only, I would do it..

Well I will make this as straight forward as possible. After spending several years in the service I was honorablly discarged and I decided to take a job in law enforcement it was kinda thing I wanted to do since I was a kid low and behold after a few months I found it wasnt the thing for me I was a little hot headed and couldn't put up with criminal idiots At that time I changed my view and went into driving from advice from a freind and now I have a successfull job and have been doing it going on 20years. The advice of a freind is what got me here and that is because they can sometimes see things that you can not see yourself I think it is your job as a freind to explore his options and maybe find an allterntive to driving I hate to see someone waster money on things they fail at
